Concert Announcements: Train, Foreigner, Mavericks, Five for Fighting

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — In what has become a regular Monday morning routine since concert venues reopened to full capacity, a slew of announcements for upcoming shows have been announced.

Train, with Vertical Horizon, will come to the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre on Aug. 25.

Foreigner, accompanied by a full orchestra, will play The Amp on Oct. 12.

The Mavericks will come to Packard Music Hall in Warren on Sept. 18.

Five for Fighting will play the Robins Theatre in Warren on Sept. 23.

Comedian-ventriloquist Jeff Dunham will bring his show to Eastwood Field in Niles on Aug. 19

Also, a children’s show, L.O.L. Live, will come to Packard hall on Nov. 13.

Train

Train is best known for a series of hit songs, including “Meet Virginia,” “Drops of Jupiter” and “Hey Soul Sister,” from the late 1990s and 2000s. tickets are $99.50, $8, $72.50, $55 and $42.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. June 18 at the Covelli Centre box office and at Ticketmaster.com (fees apply). An online-only presale will take place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with the password SUMMER.

Foreigner

Foreigner was at its peak in the 1970s and ’80s, but will revisit its repertoire with the lush sound of an orchestra. The band produced hits such as “Urgent,” “Cold as Ice,” “Juke Box Hero,” “Feels Like the First Time” and “Hot Blooded.”

Tickets are $125, $75, $59.50, $49.50 and $37.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. June 18 at the Covelli box office and Ticketmaster.com (fees apply). An online-only presale will take place June 17 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with the password JUKEBOX.

The Mavericks

The Mavericks formed in 1989, went on hiatus from 2003 to 2012, and will release its next album, “En Espanol,” on Aug. 12. As its name implies, the rock and country band led by Raul Malo will be performed in Spanish, and will perform in Latin American styles.

Tickets are $78, $52.75, $42.75 and $32.75 and go on sale at 10 a.m. June 18 at the Packard hall box office and Ticketmaster.com (fees apply). An online-only presale will take place June 17 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with the password PACKARD.

Five for Fighting

Five for Fighting’s breakthrough came in 2001 with the song “Superman,” which it followed up with “100 Years.”

Tickets are $35 and $45 and go on sale at 10 a.m. June 18 at Robinstheatre.com and at the box office of the theater, 160 E. Market St.

Jeff Dunham

Jeff Dunham the comic ventriloquist with a cast of offbeat puppet characters, will return to the Mahoning Valley on Aug. 19 for a performance at Eastwood Field in Niles.

Tickets are $59, $69, $89 and $129 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday (June 15) at mvscrappders.com and Indigotix.com.

Dunham last visited the area in 2010 when he gave a show at the grandstand of the Canfield Fair.

L.O.L. Surprise!

The L.O.L. Surprise! Tour is the first family spectacular for the children’s dolls. The concert will use hologram technology to bring its characters, including Lady Diva, Royal Bee, Neonlicious and Swag to life.

Tickets are $68, $58, $48 and $38 and go on sale at 10 a.m. June 18 at the Packard box office and at Ticketmaster.com (fees apply). An online-only presale will take place June 17 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. using the password PACKARD.
