The Update | Armstrong Street Scene Car and Custom Bike Show at Austintown Park

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The ninth annual Street Scene Car and Custom Bike Show will take place Sunday, July 25, from noon to 3 p.m. in Austintown Park.

The event is presented by Armstrong Cable in partnership with The American Heart Association.

Registration to enter a car, truck or motorcycle will be from 10 a.m. to noon. The fee is $10 with all proceeds going to the AHA. Spectators will be admitted for free.

Austintown Police will lead an organized cruise to Quaker Steak & Lube immediately after the show for the after-party. The Vegas Band will play from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., when DJ Thomas John will takeover to play music and announce the prize winners.

Molnar’s Concessions will sell food. Other vendors will include the Austintown Cub Scouts, serving drinks; Meme’s Pies, Guardian Protection Services, Youngstown Cycle and Speed, Kernel Crunch popcorn, Up In Smoke Laser Engraving, Cazzco T-shirts, and Mark Cole Insurance.

Rick Gurrera and Krysta Sylvester, hosts of the Street Scene television show, will record an episode of their popular Armstrong Neighborhood Channel Street show at Sunday’s show.

Youngstown Cycle and Speed has made all the trophies for the awards ceremony.

St. Patrick Church Festival Returns

HUBBARD, Ohio – The annual Hubbard St. Patrick Church Festival will take place Aug. 5-8 on the parish grounds, 225 N. Main St.

Hours are 6-11 p.m. Aug. 5-6; 5-11:30 p.m. Aug. 7; and 1-11 p.m. Aug. 8. Admission is free.

The festival will include homemade food, rides, games and a basket auction. A 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer (or $20,000) will be awarded to the winner of a grand raffle. To purchase tickets or for more information, go to SaintPatsFestival.com. The drawing will be Aug. 8.

The festival also includes live music. Here is the schedule:
• Aug. 5: RDNA Band, 7-11 p.m.
• Aug. 6: Hern Brothers Band, 7-11 p.m.
• Aug. 7: Chris Higbee Band, 8-11 p.m.
• Aug. 8: County Mayo, 2-5 p.m.; Old Skool, 7-11 p.m.

Theater Sets Auditions for Two Plays

STRUTHERS, Ohio – Selah Dessert Theater will have auditions for the romantic comedy “Talking To Starlight” at 6 p.m. July 29 and 31 at Selah Restaurant’s upstairs room, 130 S. Bridge St.

Needed are one male and one female, both able to play late 20s to mid-30s. Auditionees will be asked to read from the script.

The show opens Sept. 16.

Auditions for Selah’s production of the one-man show “Clarence Darrow” will take place at 6 p.m. July 30 and 31. The role requires playing a man in his 60s. Auditionees will be asked to read from the script. The show opens Nov. 11.
